Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Munnar
The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is situate in Idukki District of Kerala along the Western Ghats. Covering an area of 90 square kilometers, the wildlife sanctuary is home to a variety of indigenous flora and fauna. The region is renowned for some of its medicinal plants. Tourists can get to see animal species such as the grizzled giant squirrel, the gaur, the spotted deer, crocodiles, elephants, tigers, leopards and various kinds of birds. The best time to visit is from November to February.
