Cochin International Airport
The Cochin International Airport primarily serves the central districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam and Alappuzha. Situated in the region of Nedumbassery, the airport is located at a distance of 25 kilometers from the city. It accounts for nearly 61percent of the air travel in Kerala. With three terminals and an area covering more than 16 lakh square feet, the airport handles more than 10 million passengers every year. With a dedicated solar plant the airport is the world’s first truly solar powered airport.
