Madhya Pradesh

The state of Madhya Pradesh gets its name due to its geographic positioning. It is literally the heartland of India. It is one of the few land-locked states in India. Every twelve years the grand fair of Kumbh Mela is organized here. It is a state that is home to many royal families and is also renowned for its temples and palaces. The world-famous Khajuraho Temples are based here and it is a tourist’s delight due to the magical mix of art and architecture. For Buddhist history enthusiasts, the state is also home to the great Sanchi Stupa built by Emperor Ashoka in Bhopal. Wildlife aficionados can find their cup of tea in the Bandhavgarh National Park. The best time to visit is from October to March and the major airports are in Indore, Bhopal, and Jabalpur.
